I need to put in a D-plate, last time out the cat con alert came on, I assume it is ready to go. Will be taking it apart in the next week or so.

Straight up which is better Riva or R&D, I need to be able to put it in along with the sensor chip and go...

Thanks

Jeff

The R&D will give you better topend.

I hear R&D supposedly closer to OEM D-plate from Euro GPR's. The hole is a bit smaller creating more desired back pressure.

R&D is slightly smaller than Euro D late - the theory is more back pressure to give higher top end

pardon the ignorance, but do you have to adjust the carbs if you install the "D" plate?

Thanks for the feedback guys, looks like R&D gets the nod on the plate.

nobody has tried the O plate yet - consider giving it a try - I spoke with Jetworks - they made some pretty good claims

no you do not have to re-jet but once you get rid of the Cat you have the option of re-jetting if you want - and yes it is probably a good idea to re-jet

Yamaha factory rep told me directly that removal of cat-con and replacement with "D-plate" will require jetting, high/low speed ajdustment to avoid engine problems. Take it for what is worth. My 00GPR was sold due to some problems after the D plate install. My 01 gpr still has cat-con without any problems at 100 hours of very hard use.
