How did you sink your 00 GPR 3 times??
1st time .. jumping waves and damaged my nozzel not relizing the control cable had come lose in the hull while being towed.
2nd time .. jumping waves in the same spot, ski came down upsidedown and knocked the seat off while underwater.
3rd time .. lets not talk about it but it happened on land and had to do with the seat getting repaired and the weather changing.

When you say sink, do mean the boat is totally submerged?
No .. they sit in the water like a beer can that just won't go under.

ok,,,, I gotta ask you to define "Big Underware." Was her *** wider than the seat?
You can't picture it ... I don't want to have to discibe her? ... I'll say this, she wasn't my date, but she did keep running the RX a ground.

After considering things said on this post, I retrieved my ski from Barnies today. I'm taking it to Central Florida Yamaha, where I bought it, and decided to request a new one from Yamaha. Unfortunaly, I won't be able to get it there till next week.

DUDE!!! any update on whats happening with the ski, and the claim process...

forget about the lemon law... it has to fail exactly three times, even then it is a terrible paper ridden process... a friend had to resort to the lemon law for an automobile, the issue was know within the first year... three years later they finaly got the settlment and credit back from all the payment minus a prorated thingy with the car value etc etc blah blah... got another set of wheels, its terrible...

if you have any case you have to storm in there and start making NOISE (harmless noise mind you -there some good but scary stories for getting your money back, but be carefull) the key is do not relent in your absolute quest for a proper replacement, they (yamaha/dealer are banking on the fact that you will give up, there no way to explain how to do this every situation is different... is your pinned down, deamand to talk to someone else!!! vow to return the next day (while you regroup) and speak to someone else.

good luck

Several dealers had GPRs or XLTs with Cat Con and pump problems in every time I visited them last year. Of course, many times it was the same ski sitting for weeks because some of the dealers didn't know what to do with them.

dc ... thanks for the pictures of Taxes. My quote about TX, ND, and FL keeps popping up from time to time. I even received personal e-mails about it. I must admit, (even to allcool) I have ridden in probable the most beautiful area in Florida and hope to be back there riding soon.

You see, I came from Seattle, and on any given day or moment, even stopped at stoplight, the sun might shine just right … and I’d have one of those “God I can’t believe how beautiful that is” moments. You know, or at least I hope you know … the ones that give you goose bumps. In the West, those breath taking moments can happen many times throughout the day. You don’t even go anywhere to have them. They just are apart of the beauty. I very much miss that.

I’ve never get those feelings here in Florida, or riding through Taxes on a Goldwing, or the many times I visited North Dakota when I was a child. I know this; Florida has some beutiful areas to ride in. I just wish those areas could explode in front of me daily.

The good new is I’ll be dinking Starbucks in Seattle in about 3 weeks for a little mini vacation.

Greg,
not all the good riding spots in Florida are known to the Public.
Come on down to Ft. Myers/Naples and we'll show you some spots you would never believe to ride if you weren't on them.

Last time I was in Seattle the sun never came out! I was there a month. Somehow though, the girls had pretty nice tan lines!! Go figure.

Swag, only fair you should prove you saw those tan lines with pictures.

Greg, I grew up out west too (So Cal). Loved riding dirt bikes up to the tops of the hills now covered with homes. My wife's brother moved from So Cal to Seattle and moved back the following winter suffering from extreme cabin fever. He still misses Seattle though.

I know what you mean about the drive (NM down to El Paso is worse for me), but in this part of Texas (no income taxes here thank you) I get the exact feeling you describe just looking out the windows across the back of the house.

I went to pick up my ski today. The dealer put a new motor and oil pump in. They say it was the center mains that went bad and replaced the oil pump for preventive measures. I keep telling them the ski has an oil delivery problem. At 9.5hrs and roughly 50 gallons of fuel, I added 2/3 gallon of oil. If it were my GP12r, I would have used twice that. Meaning an oil pump may not have fixed the problem, and I get stuck finding that out … getting stuck in the Everglades again … f**k that.

Additionally, the ski flat dies while jumping waves after landing and expecting to accelerate. This is dangerous here in Florida. Waves have no pattern and the acceleration is needed to catch your balance and get in an immediate position to deal with the next in bound wave. Several times I’ve almost been washed over.

I’m starting formal proceedings requesting a new GP13r from Yamaha.

WaverunnerGreg,

I can feel for your problems... definately not what you would expect from a new ski.

If you have used the Yamaha financing, you'll have more leverage in acquiring what you want, especially dealing with Corporate Yamaha.

Have you made contact with corporate Yamaha customer service?

Keep all documents of anything that has been done to your ski.. sure you know that..

If you got a good deal on the ski, you could always try to sell it to someone else. Start over from scratch. Might be easier then trying to battle with Yamaha. Been there done that.
