Guys,
I feel like an idiot asking this... but i can't figure out how to grease the 2 nipples on my GP760! I went to a boat shop to buy a grease gun and bearing grease (my yamaha shop didn't sell the grease or the gun). My problem is when i go to pump some of the grease into the nipple (yes i took the cap off), it just squirts down the sides. And yes i have the gun perfectly straight up and aligned. What am i doing wrong? Is it possible the gun is the wrong type? The gun has an attachment on the end of the nozzle. If anyone knows what i'm doing wrong it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Greg P.S. I can take pictures of the gun if need be. |

Not a stupid question at all. I went through something similar. Be sure that when you push the socket over the grease nipple, you feel a definite click. I bought a brand new gun recently, and the snap clip on the end was no good. No matter how I tried, I could not get it to "snap" on th the fitting anf grease just ran down the side as well. I'd say borrow a known good gun or return yours and get another.

Yep make sure it clicks. I grease my GPR and Seadoo probalby every 15 - 20 hours or as I feel needed.

Guys,
I feel like an idiot. Today i tried it again and i accidentally pushed it down and it popped on. So i figured it out on my own... with a little embarrassment for not trying this in the first place! Thanks guys! Greg (dumb newbie) |
