These are a set of Jetinetics that I will be testing with my Buckshot Magnum Carbs. They come with a cone like the Proks but the cone is adjustable and come on different sizes. I lost 30-40 RPM with the Buckshot modification on my carbs but gained great bottom and mid. The cone can be adjusted towartds the carbs for increased RPM or close them for more bottom. The information that I have gathered states that carbs with weak signals can benefit from more restrictive flame arrestors. I will be testing this set very soon and am very ......very optimistic about the results. There is an article on Splash magazine august 1997 on which this flame arrestors outperform every flame arrestor in the market at that time. The test was performed by a member of MSD ignitions.
(I wonder how a I-body 44 without the choke plates and this flame arrestors would perform)
The third flame arrestor has the cone removed. The cone can be adjusted up to 3 turns out to increase air velocity.
GLUEING IN ONE OF THOSE CONE SHAPED WATER DRINKING CUPS DOES THE SAME THING........I COATED THE CUPS IN FIBERGLASS RESIN (SO THEY WILL HOLD UP WITH GAS & OIL) BEFORE I GLUED THEM INSIDE THE FLAME ARESTER WITH SILICONE ADHESIVE ..SO THEY WOULD BE EASY TO CHANGE IF I WANTED TO TRY ANOTHER SIZE CUP-CONE.......HAVE SEVERAL SIZE CUP ALREADY CUT AND COATED IN RESIN SO I CAN CHANGE THEM TO GET THE BEST RESULTS I AM LOOKING FOR. TRY IT ......IT WORKS!!

quote:Okay fellow 'groupies, just got in a couple of hours ago from an afternoon of testing on the Tunable Filtration System (TFS) from Jetinetics. Test craft was Sea Jet VXL 1350 with stock carbs which are the three jet 40mm Keihins. The airbox is basically a carbon copy of the ones on Kawasaki, as in the 750 style, but with more ports to facilitate airflow. Sunday on the lake was a great tuning day with the stock setup back on the boat which allowed me to dial in an rpm reading of 6738. With the replacement of the stock airbox with the TFS units, I was able(2ski) to eek out another 51 rpms to 6789. The bottom end increased .It is probably the most noticeable improvement as it easily launches this heavy beast up out of the water causing the pump to completely clear the water unless you are positioning your weight up over the handlebars. And thats a lot of weight, 525 lbs. dry + ~80 lbs fuel and my carcass at 190 lbs brings the grand total to around 795 lbs. After adjusting the TFS units instead of just bolting them on and riding, which I previously did with the "cones" a full three turns out from top, my rpms were as stated above, but with them all the way out, rpms peaked at ~6925 with consistent 6890 readings. Bottom end is still great but not as strong as with the adjustments all theway in, you need to find a happy median for your own riding style. But on the course I can see this unit really able to shine, if you have a particularly tight course, turn 'em in, you may loose a bit on top end but your accelleration will be substantially greater, if the course is wide open, bring them back out to your original position.
Sorry for the incomplete information on the initial post, but I was having so much fun riding I didn't mess with the adjustments. Laszlo Lo-Ball Engineering Carolina Watercraft Works, Inc
HHhhmmm ? Stop while I am ahead, I knew last time we rode I was getting you on the holeshoot but I was not ahead long enough to stop while I was ahead. I am not like you, I do not have to ask. She says I can go, I mean I told her I was going tommorrow if it was not raining. I have to go to work till 11, I can meet you at your house around 11:30-11:45. The weather is looking like s***! Right now and I still do not have a wet suit.
Jeff, Golden Triangle Yamaha has a few wet suits left over from last year. Yesterday a buddy of mine bought a nice one for $85.00 with boots and gloves.
Jeff I will not tune carbs in the rain. Riding in the rain and tunning are different. The only reason why you got a boat ahead was because my gas valves cover were off.
Hey Fernando, you never told me that your friend Jeff kick your *** with his boat hehehe. I beleive you would have to come here to teach you some tunning lessons "Puerto Rican style" to avoid this EMBARRASSING situation Ray
