With the cones up I gained 10 RPM with the cones down I lost acceleration.

I have to rejet my carbs and will try again later

Fercho did you check your plug readings before and after you adjusted the cones, also which size cones did you try --

Jason this are the 70 mm cones the ones recommended for the Buckshot carbs jetting is way off. I am goint to have to rest to probaly 125 Pilots and go to 120 or 115 mains.

I retuned my highs for each set of flame arrestors

Fercho--i too had a little hesitation when i put the carbs on and my gpr loaded up really bad in 5mph no wake zones--if you have the lows 2 turnes out it might be too much for your gpr--try turning them in one full turn-should make a big difference--and try the highs 1-1/2 turn out and work your way in----try this before you change jets--

Sorry Jetskidaddy. Golden Triangle Yamaha is here in Beaumont. I went in Saturday to look around and all they had was medium and small sizes left.

Fernando, change your 115 (pilots) for the 120 as i told you by the phone last night but leave your highs (main) alone and test your boat if you see some improvement over your first set up but not 100% perfect then remove your carbs again and change your (pilots) for the bigger 125 but at the same time decrease your high speed jets (mains) for the smaller 120 THIS IS THE SET UP WE ARE RUNNING HERE WITH OUR NOVIS,RED TOPS,BLAKJACKS AND BUCKSHOT 46MM AND 48 MM AFTERMARKET CARBS. AFTER A LOT OF EXTENSIVE TRY AND ERROR EFFORTS WITH THIS CARBS WE FIND THIS SETUP TO BE THE BEST FROM ANY OTHER CARBS SPECS. "BELEIVE ME FERNANDO WE HAVE TEST EVERYTHING HERE WITH THIS CARBS NO ****" REMEMBER AS I TOLD YOU BEFORE THIS CARBS LIKES THE (PILOTS) BIGGER THAN THE (MAINS) NOT THE MAINS BIGGER THAN THE PILOTS AS OUR STANDARD(GPR)OEM I SERIES CARBS OR THE STANDARD SUPER B/N THAT COMES IN THE EARLY "97 TO 99" YAMAHA GP BOATS Wink OH I ALMOST FORGOT THAT WE ALSO PLAY A LOT WITH THIS CARBS POP-OFF PRESSURE AND FIND THE "SWEET SPOT" BETWEEN 15 AND 20 PSI WE ACHIVE THIS WITH THE 2.3 AND 2.5 N/S AND THE 80 AND 95 GRAMS ARM SPRING GOOD LUCK Ray

when you say kills the engine i sopose you mean it stalls, try adjusting your throttle linkage---and try turning the lows in--it can't hurt to try, also remember our carbs are not the ones gpracer is refering to--ours are not novies or aftermarket buckshots--their only modified stock carbs--

Fercho, I think Raymond is doing similar jetting specs that I used on my Seadoo 785 with Buckshot 44's , where the lows were larger than the highs. Mels's theory is the two jets must total at least 250 and keep going higher on the lows until the boat won't idle then back off one size.

The FA's look identical to a set of Vilders I have off a 1997 GP1200. Even same color.

Brett I think that Raymond may be correct.

Jason what jetting do you have????. By the way Buckshot has two types of carbs, the Magnums which are modified mikunis and the BRM with are made from billett aluminum. The most popular ones are the Magnums. Novis and Full spectrums are actually Mikuni SBN modified.

Check this out.
Removing the accelerator pump I had 110 pilots the 46mm Buckshots are tapered bored from 70mm to 46mm and 5 numbers just does not seem rich enough to compensate. Another carb company which has not release their carb mod (pending final testin) had taper (not tapered bore) the carbs to 44mm, remove the choke plates @ acc pump and had a low jetting of 115 pilot at 1 1/2 turns out. I really belive tht this jetting is way off.

leemac had the 47 mm Buckshot and he ended up.
with 125 pilots @ 1 1/8 turn.

I have a stinger II so I was able to tune my lows to the best idling possible. I have acces to my #2 & #3 low speed adjustors within reach and to the #3 withtin 3 minutes so I thiker with it for a while

Lance in Texas City has his lows between 1/2 to 3/4 turns. I see some inconsistency here with the jetting. I wonder if he got gp1200 jetting of 130 pilots and 115 mains. I will find out sometime this week.

Jason give me a number or call me 713-875-1812
