Had my GPR out for the first time since doing all the mods to it......WOW! what a difference.Incredible holeshot and continued to pull strong all the way to wot-very pleased! My question is my highest RPM was 6980 at about 67 mph (Garmin GPS.....85! on the dreamo)sitting (68 superman-I had to try )Does that sound about right? I guess I thought (maybe hoping)I'd be a little faster/RPM higher though I am VERY impressed with the way the boat runs. Can more speed be added by tweaking the prop without losing holeshot/acceleration? Oh and if it matters: air temp about 67 f water temp about 58(if that) elev.about 635 ft

Just my opinion, but I think your RPM's are a little low. I was running close to the same set-up turning an out-of-the-box 14/20 at 71-72 mph with my r's around 7110-7120. With the 13/19 I was turning 7330-7340. Just my opinion though.

Liquid Missle, thats what I was thinking but I wanted some verification from you guys that know more than I.I spent almost 2 hours running back and forth adjusting the carbs and thats the best I got so I was wondering what else I could/should do or check to get a little more out of the setup I have? Anyone have any advice? Thanks

Ctpmorgan: Your Riva stinger II is holding your peak rpms and top end speed BIG TIME . Ask (Tim) DMD why i am tellin you this perform the following:
1)Ditch the stinger II and re-install your stock oem stinger with the R&D D-plate. This mod only is worth about 100 to almost 200 peak rpms over your current set-up.
2)Also, are you sure your boat is not running a little rich?? To check this follow these instruccions: try to find a place with absolute glass water (to achieve a steady readin from your tach) then perform a couple of 1/4 mile wide open trottle runs taking a close look at your aftermarket digital tach if your peak rpms remains steady then this mean that your boat is running on the rich side to solve this remove your seat and close your carbs highs t-handles screws 1/8 at the time (remember they close clockwise and open counterclockwise) and repeat this steps until your boat peak rpms start to fluctuate between 20 to 40 up and down BUT REMAIN LIKE THIS FOR THE COMPLETE 1/4 MILE OR MORE TEST RUN. WARNING: if you notice that your peak rpms keep dropin for example from 7150 to 7100 and then to 7050 etc.. This mean that you whent a little over the edge (lean) and have to let go the trottle ASAP!!! otherwise a lean seizure will be knocking in your door. Last year i built a stage II 01 Gpr boat and reach a top speed of 70.1 on my Gps (in hot weather) and also have the fastest waveraider 1100 on my riding area, 68 mph on the stalker radar gun if this mean something to you hasta luego Ray
cpt------if your rpm's are "maxed out" and cant dial in any more---- reducing the pitch and getting those r's a little higher---both acceleration AND top end will increase.

also be aware that it can be very difficult to tune your high speed adjusters if your pwc is overproped.. I'd take Carl's suggestion and relax the bend a bit..until your running at least 7050 and then tune the carbs.

cpt...........Tried myself to get the Stinger 2 to get the same top end R's that the D-plate guys were running........It was impossible. As soon as I went to the D-plate.........picked up about 90 RPM. Then put a D-Plate on my Brothers GPR and removed his Stinger 1 (yes, the Riva original) and picked up 210 rpm!!!
I think you have some other good ideas on this thread to get your R's up.......definitely consider the D-plate.
