Hey guys,
I have 2002 FX140 and last weekend was first ride of season. Everything was normal until I re-fueled on the lake. After that we were jumping waves for 30 minutes. After jumping, I notices that my RPM's would only peak around 9,200 and I lost top speed. Normally the R's get up to 10,200 or so. I am thinking it is probably bad gas, since I live in the NW and I probably got some of last year's gas that has been sitting all winter. But just curious if common problems can occur after some pretty good jumping, since it was after then, that I noticed. But got gas right before jumping, so I don't know which is the culprit. Anyway, any advice is appreciated. I was also riding with a XLT who gassed up same time and jumped with me. He claims no fuel problems afterwards but . . . two stroke, etc? And the guy is one of those types that wouldn't notice a slight decrease in performance anyway. Thanks for the help |
