The lakes that I ride on have fairly rocky shores and I was thinking about installing a keel guard. Does anyone use it? How does it effect performance? Any installation suggestions? Thanks!

Paul

a few people have used them. Use the search function and I'm sure you'll find what your looking for.

They do scrub a little speed but are great to protect the borrom of your hull.

Get a hold of Liquid Missile on this topic, or search Liquid Missile's posts. He was very dissapointed with the amount of speed the keel guard scrubbed off.

Paul I have one on a 97 GP and a 2000 GPR. They do a good job of protecting the hull. As long as you end the gaurd 1 foot from the intake it won't scrub speed.
