I'm working on installing new prop and PPK to my 01 GP1200R. I have a service manual and have been following it step by step. Currently I have reached the point where the according to the manual I need to "pull the pump assembly straight out". I've tried pulling and prying the pump housing away from the transom plate. I understand there is a gasket "seal" there but I'm using considerable force and it doesn't move.
Any suggestions?
Thank you in advance.
Danny

You are trying to pull too many things off at once. You should take the reduction nozzle and pump off and leave the impeller liner. There are additional bolts that hold the impeller liner to the transom plate. After you remove the 4 long bolts provided you have taken the steering nozzle off, the pump should seperate from the impeller liner using the two pry areas. Pry each one a little at a time until it comes loose. The impeller will slide out of the impeller liner.

Hope this helps.

there is also 1 or 2 small bolts that are hard to see with the pump fully assembled make sure you get them out also. Then as spud said use the pry points to pop that sucker out of there

Yeah there is one small bolt on the lower left side that has to come out too. So, that would make a total of 9 that would have to come out. There are also little pry points to use as well.
