Yes, Renthals, but on a GP not GPR so I didn't do the choke, however I've seen a few with the choke in plac on a/m bars

Yes it can be done but get your file and sandpaper ready. I used a file to remove some of the material on the stock QSTS handlebar assembly and then used 120 grit sandpaper to take down some of the material from the handlebars. Just make sure that no one is around when you are screaming out those nasty words. It is a pain but worth it if you are planning on going to UMI steering with aftemarket bars. You will also have to drill through the aftermarket bars to be able to run the screw that holds the QSTS grip assembly on.

I have also seen some people swap out the steering but still use the stock bars.

how about using the stock steering but going to aftermarket bars and keeping qsts,choke,etc...i know fly makes an universal mount so im wondering if that may be the way to go for now.until i go to new steering, drop nozzle,etc..thanks guys Dana i have not forgot about the bars you have just trying to get this sorted out and decide what im going to do.

ok so you put the stock quick trim on aftermarket steering... what do you do for grips. i hate stock yamaha grips, and heard that you cant run renthal or any other grips on the stock twist trim due to the size of the tube on the twist trim set up is bigger than the opening on aftermarket grips. can you remove the stock grip from the qsts twist trim tube? Then if you use aftermarket grips do you run into more binding? I have drop trim now, but i am wanting to go back to the stock twist trim, but i hate stock grips... my wrist can't take the drop trim anymore. any suggestions? mario??? anyone?

You do the aftermarket grip on the right handlebar and the stock/QSTS grip on the left. That is the only way to do it. I am switching over to a drop nozzle setup so that issue will finally get resolved by using the Riva grips. Now to just decide if I want to spend the $600 on Skats setup for venturi and drop nozzle system.

I actually always liked the OEM grips so for me it wasn't an issue, but there's nothing you can do on the left side, gotta use the OEM setup
