NOT THAT THEY ARE VERY ACCURATE ANYWAY, BUT ON MY GP 1200 THE SPEEDO QUIT READING ANYWHERE CLOSE TO THE TRUE SPEED THE SECOND DAY I HAD IT. IS THERE ANY ADJUSTMENT THAT WILL LINE IT BACK OUT? AND HOW DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH TO ADJUST IT? ALSO CHECK OUT MY POST ON THE 8TH OF JANUARY ABOUT THE PARTS I HAVE FOR SELL.

Brandon I have seen gp1200 that go way off for no reason. Take a look at the Speedo sending unit ( spinner mounted on the ride plate) and see if may be there is sea-weed or anything on it.

Brandongp, On my 97GP1200, I believe there were two nuts that secured the speedo sensor bracket to the hull. The bracket had slightly elongated slots for the bolts. Raising the bracket (which raised the speedo wheel) increased the speedo reading, and lowering it decreased the reading. Hope this helps.

Hey Bullraider! You sound like you know Beaumont pretty good. I put in next to the country club and head north to the saltwater barrier and then back track down river past downtown and go ride around by the ports. Do a little wave jumping from the tug boats down there. I also go up to Sam Rayburn about once a month during the summer.
I take my Kawi SS750 and put in @ Crystal Beach now and then. Don't want to take the chance with my GPR down there. Hollar @ me and we will go ride next time you are over this way.

Sounds good , actually Port Acres DONT LAUGH I HEAR YOU LAUGHING, we will get together when my raider is up.....and running...Their is a strip of water we call entergy canal, it is just the other side of the rainbow bridge, going towards bridge city, that has a straight shot to stuits island, you can get some pretty good numbers for testing high speed and no one will bother you, I will bring my e-trex and check out the speeds.... Smile

BULL AND KIRK,

I ACTUALLY LEAVE IN NEDERLAND, MY SKI STAYS AT MY LAKE HOME ON SAM RAYBURN. I USED TO OWN A RENTAL BUSINESS ON HWY 255 AT RAYBURN. YOU GUYS SHOULD COME UP TO RAYBURN, ITS WELL WORTH THE 1-1/2 HOUR DRIVE.

You kill me Bull. I am laughing!!!! Know the place well to. I learned how to drink @ the Rodair club. I heard of the island down there and have been wanting to go but my friends were to scared to go. I hate to go out in uncharted waters by myself. I heard cow bayou was a nice run as well. Let me know when you get your ski running, sounds like fun.
Brandon, Rayburn is nice but I have to admit I don't know the lake as well as I should. I usually hang out around the island there off of Twin Dykes. A buddy who knows it well is talking about taking a half day and crossing the lake. I let you know when we decide to go.

It sounds like you know my part of the town.. my place to drink was the "88" across the street from the rodair.. anyway the stuits island run is pretty cool , when you get there ,the big boats run and the skis run also, they have a nice beach and you can sit or ride..I will be getting in touch with you two soon, as soon as i get over to Fercho's house and get some more parts, that guy knows , and has everything..he is pretty cool if you need help with your ski...(how about sarah jane road?) Smile
