Hey guys, as you can see in my signature, my next mod will be milling the head but I was just wondering what to expect from the gas usage. I'm having it milled for pump gas 92 octane. Right now I get about 4 to 4.5 hours. How would that change?

your fuel cost will increase since now you MUST use a minimum of 92 octane ...otherwise your repairs costs are going to heavily dent you credit card if you don't!!

fuel costs will skyrocket cuz U WILL LOVE IT !
You'll be hittin that holeshot all the time.

have a blast!

(IF you could keep your finger outta the throttle you may actually use LESS fuel because your engine will not be working as hard to get the same rpms...ever done perf tricks to your street car and gotten better mpg?..same thing..running more efficiently)

Your consumption might even improve, I have found the 66V to react favorably in terms of efficiency when initial mods are implemented (head, f/a, etc) This is more because the boat is usually a but rich in factory form and is one of the very few rare cases that do not require re jetting after every mod, (like the 97-99) Your expence is another story and dependant on whether as stated above you will enjoy your improved acceleration so much that you can't live without WOT and the ever elusive roller coaster fuel pricing, one way or another at 10c a gallon more (average difference in NY between 89 and 92/3) your cost are bound to come up a bit.

Exactly. Any other theory is just theory.

Hey everyone........ sorry to chime in, but......... how about a side by side comparison? Mabey a Triple pipe GPR & a Riva stage 2 2001XLT 1200?? OK here it is, side by side riding in Lake Havasu....... I always let my nephew ride the XLT1200.... my pipes are alot faster of course, but he rides the xlt1200 hard to try to keep up........ on the average, the xlt1200 will hit reserve & the GPR will still have a little over a 1/4 tank left........ the xlt is a pig........ hope that helps seeing you have the same ski (2001 & 2002 are the same)

My triple pipe gpr sits at 7100 - 7200 RPM beside a stock GPR, I am using very little fuel to keep up with him. The look on the face of the other rider when you nail it from there and the ski jumps out of the water is just amazing.

But a triple pipe GPR is no fun at 7100 RPM......

Cheers

Peter
