2 dealers have told me that the D-plate and removing the tamper caps on the carbs would void the warranty

You will get better numbers in salt water vs. fresh due to the fact that the heavier water holds your boat up out of the water higher.....

It's not LSU, salt water increases drag due to it's higher density therefore nets lower speed numbers.

Hey jskGPR,
Nice speed..one question, you had your carbs rejetted and mentioned lean out bottom. Whats that mean? And how is done?

I have never tested on pure salt water, I ride in brackish water, and can get to the salty stuff, but it is never smooth enough for GPS testing.........

The water is denser because of the salt content, not because of more water molecules per liter, which would increase drag by creating more cohesion to the hull......however, the denser water will make the boat more bouyant, thus less of the hull will be in the water.......less surface area in contact with the water means less drag....

whether it makes a difference in the real world I don't know.....obviously some of you guys have tested it, so I'll take your word for it until I get a chance to prove it for myself.....

BTW, your ski is like my C5 Corvette....a real strong runner....

Just think, with my Tigershark I run slow all the time. No problem with salty or fresh water

strange, on the water issue their is more buoyancy in salt water so there should be less drag . . so say the calf tuning gurus anyway.
