Just wanted to let everyone know the Riva cut grate is working great. Thanks Bill and Darrell.

Speedo hit 68 on full tank (for whatever that's worth) [Wink]

The one thing I noticed is the LACK of the braking effect. Nice smooth stops, no lurching. Turning was a vast improvement over the stock grate. This GPR powers thru turns w/o the nose digging into the turn.

ALL around I'm very pleased. Thanks!

This looks interesting. Do you see gains in top speed with this mod?

Dave,

this grate seems to work better than anything i've used on my XLL and with my new GPR, it makes the ski feel light going into turns. The stock grate made the ski feel sooo heavy in turns. I was skeptical at first but this grate was cut by Cosca for Darrell (spong) and he loved it. I love it too.

Are there any speed gains with this cut? Is the front of the scoop sharpened?

My grate is cut the same way and it works great, the ski has a light responsive feel. I also used a flat body file to narrow down that big thick vertical section that goes down to the wings. Then just smooth everything out and sharpen all the leading edges.

i thought i remembered a post from awhile back that sharpening the lead edges of the intake increased porposing? was that different type of grate, top loader?
