when breaking in ski , it seemed to pull real hard , when first tank of gas (oil added) got low the ski started to sputter and bog. switched to reserve, same thing. put more fuel in and it still sputtered, cleared out after a few seconds but it doesn't pull like it did and it will bog when floored from a start. when it hits a wake the rev limiter drops the rpm's down to low six's and it feels like i threw out an anchor. speedo will usually only hit 63 mph where before it would hit 67 - 68 . got beat by a sea-doo xp which was stock! when tank got low on fuel it would start pulling better and hit 66 - 67. please , any info. would help. still under warrenty but one dealer said there was nothing wrong. my old sea doo is more fun right now. p.s. does anyone know a good dealer service center in new england. thanks

Sounds like a normal stock GPR, after you got use to the initial power. They are slower and perform sluggish on a full tank of fuel but tend to come alive when the tank starts to get low. Stock, they always hit the rev limiter and close the power valves (landing with the brakes on) killing the power till the power valves open back up. The easyest solution is to get a PROTEC power valve controller from Carl at PROTEC.
paul, depending on what part of mass your in , you should not be too far from me , im in southern newhampshire (manchester) and id be more than happy to take a look at it for you . thanks dana

Paul it sounds like you broke a power valve,Your boat is acting just like mine(02 gp12000r) did when the screw broke off on the rear cylinder power valve. I replaced the parts that were needed and it came alive again.

Paul if your in MA then I suggest calling Dana at Jettrix Performance in Southern NH. What part of MA are you in? I'm always looking for people to ride with. I agree with AdrenJunky on what the problem is but I personally would skip the pro tec pv controller and go straight to the advent ignition.
