A friend of mine is having a problem with his 99 GP12. He says that all of a sudden, his ski killed, and the dash read on the right hand side gauge "trip 0.0" and he had to enter his "code" again to restart, and he can only ride for a minute or so before the engine kills again & his trip (?) resets. But the ski will idle, but once you give throttle, it will only last a few minutes before the engine kills & his trip resets. I am not familiar with the GP's digital gauges, so does anyone have any advice? I assume this is something electrical, does the gp have a reset button like the gpr? If so, where is it?
Thx. |

Coupe,
He has an electrical problem..tell him to start with the battery and work his way up. It could be the battery or loose wire. It could be a couple of things...he needs to check all of his wiring out. The gauge is trying to register an electrical problem. Battery, wiring, relays, rectifier (rare problem), cdi..they all have a part to play. It will not heal itself...he needs to go through system. With your help of course Mike [ 05-27-2003, 07:59 PM: Message edited by: pistonwash ] |
