I have a stock 1300R except for a sealed pump what top loader intake grate does everyone recommend the 1300R/1200R or the 800R and what are the advantages and disadvantages of each.

I know from reading other posts the 800 grate will give you approx 1 more mph on top but take away from holeshot. Therefore the 1300r/1200r will increase holeshot but will it decrease my top speed, right now im running 65 stock does that mean the 1300R/1200R grate could possibly take me down to 64 but give me a better holeshot, i really dont wanna lose any top speed but i dont wanna lose holeshot which should i get?

Use the 1300 grate with the Riva ride plate as a combo and u won`t lose anything but will gain 2-4 mph depending on conditions. The 800 grate with pick u up about .5 to 1mph on glass only the 1300 grate stays hooked-up better in the chop/slight or heavy. Stay with the stock sponsons for speed only,about 1 mph slow down with the Riva pair, learned that the hard way. Have the skegs milled off the Riva plate and bang another .5 to 1mph/ Good luck, David
