Just purchased (have not even picked up) a 1995 Wave Venture. Was hoping someone here could give me a basic idea of what I could expect out of it performance wise (handling, acceleration, top speed). It has a stock 700 engine, all else stock also.

Any basic improvements that you would recommend?

Sold a 96 Seadoo XP to pick it up. But must admit still holding onto to my SPX....

Thanks!
Will

Top speed youre looking at abotu 42-43
If you dont mind switch to pre mix or at least check the oil lines before every ride
If you have a single carb switch to dual carbs. better bottom end and mabey 1-2 MPH top speed
Switch to flame arresters add a primer kit to get rid of the chokes and rejet the carbs.
if you wanna get crazy you can port it but I know you can put a pipe on it. A pipe for a 700 engine should be pretty cheap used.
Thats abotu all I would do. the porting I would wait until you rebuild the motor someday. 700s are very reliable motors

but i don't think will fit on the hull
live stock and have fun you want to go fast get other ski

Thanks guys! Not looking for too much in the way of speed on this one. Really wanted something the opposite of my SPX - more stable with multiple abilities (cruising, pulling, etc). The SPX has had some mods done to it and it's a great little hull for tearing up the lake (light and nimble) but it's a squirrely little thing for family members to ride. My buddy has an XL760 and I was impressed with it which is why I picked this one up. Little smaller engine and older so I just really didn't know what to expect with it but couldn't pass it up for the price.

Thanks again for the input. Seems like I'll just go through it with a fine toothed comb, make sure everything is working right and leave it stock.
