It's safe for your gpr. You spray it into the air box(little hole) at 3/4 throttle to lube the bottom half of the crank. You only need to do this if you are storing your ski for a long period of time. You need to use it so that the internal parts of your ski don't rust over the winter.

I can't remember Smile My gpr is on a lift at the marina all bundled up. I don't have a stock air box on my 800 anymore. Sorry. I think it's on the top by one of the corners. Although, it could be on one of the sides. Anyone else????

its not easy to reach on the GPR and you will need assistance by someone else to operate the throttle while you spray.

Its on the exhaust port side of the motor, forward of the engine. It works best to put your arm down on the side of the exhaust and feel the air box for the hole. The hole is on the left side of the airbox if you were sitting on the ski.
Once you find the hole get the fogging spray with a nozzle lined up and have someone start the engine and run it at a fast idle while you spray fogging oil into the airbox. Do this for a few minutes and you will notice the exhaust start to show signs of fogging oil being burned in the engine. Keep spraying while reducing the throttle until the engine stalls. Then remove the plugs and pour 1 teaspoon of yamaha lube in each cylinder. Turn the engine over by hand by turing the drive shaft on the rear of the engine a few times slowly.Re-insert the plugs. This process should protect the internals of the engine for storage.

Does this procedure work on the 1200's as well?

Phat air, should work on any PWC motor. (the overall winterizing technique, not sure if the hole in airbox would be diff location if that's what you mean)

The procedure I described is for the GPR1200. The GP1200 can also be done only much easier through the screw out caps on top of the flame arrestor.

You can follow the owners manual for the balance of the winter storage maintenance that should also been done.
