Summer has finally arrived in KS and the ol' gp1200 fired right up (first time I've started it up since fogging it last fall). However, I went to start it again and it wouldn't crank... after messing around a bit, I figured out that I could get it to crank only after disconnecting the main fuse then reconnecting it (like it was resetting some sort of a solenoid??). It will then crank one series, then I have to "reset" it again by pulling the fuse. Has anyone had this annoying problem or know what my problem is? THXS!javascript:void(0) Mad

I had a similar problem this spring, turns out I flooded the cylinder with so much gas that it seized the motor. If you wait a couple of minutes the gas may settle or remove the spark plugs and place a rag over the heads and crank again if you see a lot of gas hit the rag then you either have a valve stuck open or you goosed it too much before starting the boat, 5 to 10 pulls before starting should be enough to get gas to the carbs. The problem I had was starting the boat when it was warm out then leaving the fuel valve open over night when it got almost freezing out then trying to start it when it was warm again the next day. Lesson learned: Always turn off the fuel valve and release pressure in the gas tank by slowly removing the fuel cap and then retighten. If the boat does not start on first try pull choke goose the throttle 5 to 10 times, rinse and repeat. I hope this helps.

Mad.. Had a problem with my 1200 that sounded somewhat like your having.. After you pull the fuse and start it does it sometimes sound like a click noise coming from the electrical box.. Problem was that my starter relay was getting stuck and ended up having to change it.. Cost was very cheap.. Something like 30 or 40 bucks for the part and change it myself.. Very easy to do..
