I rode with Brian on the day he tested the 13/19 setback "out of the box"

It really hits hard out of the hole, and goes to the top as hard as you can hold on, high speed turns and not a miss or even a little bog, i should of had gloves on when i rode, it was all i could do to hold on. My ski was running 71 that morning, and it felt like a tug boat after riding Brians.

and the prop does hit the pump, we even put it on my never touched stock pump on my R2 ski and it was hitting the pump...

Island Racing uses a 13 ton press as opposed to a 12 ton press, to give it that extra 1/8th.
or maybe it was a bench vice, a glass of gatorade and a 8 foot 2x4..

the new Riva Prop is Great, for what it was designed for,Speed, acceleration, and holding in the corners.

Brian I never qestioned your abilities it ws just a recommendation. As far as the 13/19 setback. IMO to **** with the 2 more MPH. I LOVE THIS PROP, 76 MPH is fast enough and get there in no time. There is no question that this prop will change many things. Anyone running CC must have this prop.

It would be nice to see a custom pitch to drop some RPM's and increase top end but without sacrificing any bottom or mid, being dropping the RPM the most important part

Fercho, No problem. I have also used a block of wood and a hammer. You are right, you will never get the best of both worlds but RIVA SET BACK is as close as your are going to get. Big Grin

Considering that your ski is 71 mph and Brian's is a 80mph s/s race ski, that doesn't come as much of a surprise.

and my ski is a 72 mph ski Big Grin (WPP R2)
it was running 80 rpms low cause of the heat.

you wont get any farther back than the setback.

Dana your truly amazing- im not knocking the setback, and dont know how you manage to always twist things around-----
I dont know the exact pitch yet, i will in a few days----but someone who already has a 13/19 and wants to bring it to setback specs has the option to do so-------this would be in the best interest for a customer---dont you agree?
Or would you just rather make em spend another $260 for an impeller
i could do that also.
saving the cust nearly 200$ would be good?---no?

others are asking for a test between props---I ask for a fair test of 2 equal props, and theres a problem. dont get it?

thats what i say...LOL you keep bringing up the customers....

260$ is a lot better than replacing your whole pump and bearings (400$), when the bearings rust out...all it takes is a drop of water, without that washer there.

I have now made a shim for the set back prop to set it back as close to the hub as possible.
If you want me to post the new speeds let me know or This subject is closed.

Measures the shim for the pump. It is 2.20mm thick. It now allows the prop to set back correctly. Wink I will be on the water again on Saturday.

Thanks. I am running the 3 degree nozzle. I noticed on the trailer yesterday the famous Sea-Doo marbles on a pipe sound syndrome. The shaft had a small play back and forth also I have a shaded area on the impeller where It usually gets cavitation burns. I re tighten the nut and took care of the problem. Will order the 3 degree cone today and install my new liner.

Green bellows and black tops, Springs are from the Riva kit with 1/2 turn cut off of spring. Red cap opened 17 clicks from closed. Wink

Brian - when you say "black tops", are you referring to the plastic cap inside? Does the spring/red cap adjustment really make that much of a difference? The reason I ask, I took the springs out on sunday to see if they were holding back my rpms (7710 max)and could not tell the difference in accelleration. It actually seemed to hit harder without the springs in but without a SATS to measure accelleration times, can't say for sure.

BTW - I have the green bellows but the plastic piece inside is beige. Does that make a difference?

Still have lots to learn about this motor...

thanks!
