Is there a way to stop the Yamaha rooster tail while pulling skiers or tubes?

Two simple ways:

1. Install a brass on/off handle inline with the spitter hose. Many on here have done this.

2. Disconnect the hose while pulling a tube.

The first option would be much simpler. I don't have any pics of the brass part, but I'm sure someone will jump in with a link.

Everything you need to do the fitting you cn get at lowes. My hubby bought a strong hose with fiber intertwined to keep the hose from splitting, cut the hose in half, sealed a cut off valve inbetween, then sealed the hose to the couplets where the single hose used to fit. We can turn the hose on and off while sitting on the ski.

Or you can do the simple way and just remove the hose for that brief time.

I put a small rubber cap and secured it with a tie rap. Works great.

Is it ok just to block off, or do I need to devert the stream. Is it just for visability and once blocked no problem?

I simply removed the hose all together, and used epoxy to seal the hole.

It's pretty much a visibility thing/safety thing...

I like the rooster tails. When I see one it lets me know there is a rookie on a ski in my riding area. So I can stay away and watchout for him/her.
