I finally took out my GPR today after putting on a stinger pipe 2 and a free flow kit along with a Advent CDI. I was riding it today and didn't really notice much improvement, plus I notice that it bogs from a start every once and a while... I felt a little more improvement in Mid Range power but no low end at all to top it off. I turned the High settings on the Carbs to what Riva recommended. Also, I have a 13/19 prop as well as a Pump plug kit too. What do you think it is????????? What can I do about it? I really felt like I spent this money on something that hurt my performance rather then improving it. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

do you have a digital tac to tune with ?

The stinger you purched is a major improvement over stock.
dont get discouraged, spend some time tuning your ski.

I would have thought you would have had a significant low end improvement, better acceleration and better hook-up. Follow Sea-ya's advice.
Also it would help to post more details, what curve, have you changed jetting? or as Fercho asked any other mods?

Sea-ya
How do you like those R-pot Hyd trim tabs?

Love them!
Just got them before rivas came out.Their set up is much nicer.
I have had to extend them.
Added a piece to prevent them from sticking in the dowm pos , On wicked inverted landing.

There a great mod especally if ya keep the stock trim. The ability to use both is awsome Wink

I'm getting a set. Can you explain in a little more detail what you did to improve them or if it is simpler e-mail me a picture.

"Added a piece to prevent them from sticking in the dowm pos"

thanks

twisid,

Get yourself a set of flame arrestors and let that GPR breath........ . Spend the $$ on a head as well.

One thing I have experienced with nearly all the RIVA stuf I have bought, is it takes a little more to get it working than just bolting it on.

You need a tach and some time....

Good luck

Cheers

Do you think the bogging is caused by me maybe having the Highs to rich and there is extra fuel in there when I try to take off from start??

110 Pilots
120 Mains
1.5 n/s
80 gram spring
1 - 1 1/8 out on the lows
1 1/4 out on the highs to start

Make sure that your Advent is set for the Yam 84 curve

N/S = needle and seat specification

or what Fercho has mentioned in his suggested jetting specs.. " 1.5 needle and seat"

Fercho, you forgot to tell board member (airbone) that he have to ditch the acell.pump from his carbs to achieve the best performance with this jetting specs otherwise he will have a "over rich" condition on his boat Wink Fernando deja ya de meter la pata ok?

Fercho,

Have you experimented even higher jetting on the mains?

110 on the pilots are great, .5 of a turn out
We run highs realy big !!!! .5 of a turn out, removed accelerator pumps, man that tidied up the carbs.

Our set up is so tight that we can go in .25 or 0ut .25 of a turn and dust off .5 mph on GPS & Radar.

We spin a 12 vien magnum 13/19 @ 7310 RPM, the ski rips through the bottom & mid, pulls to peak speed straight away, no long flying runs inching out .1 of a mph. We have a dominator plenium set up on stock carbs !!!!.

I await my NOVI 48's.

Go higher on the mains....... lots higher.

All runs with 5 gallons of fuel.

Cheers

Ray is correct. I forgot to metion to disable the accelerator pump, remove the linkage on it.

I ran the 115 Pilots and 125 maind ans I lost the aggresive acceleration. During the 95-100 degree weather days I am was anywhere between 3/4 to 1 turn out on the highs.

Blue water can you be more specific ion your jetting!!!!!

Your jetting would not apply to us because you are using the dominator.

What all would I have to do to disable the Acc Pump and how would that benefit my situation. I recently rejetted to:
105 pilots
120 mains
2.3 n/s (could this be too big?)
115 g spring
w/ return restrictor 112.5 jet.
Riding at 650' elev.
Currently running S2,riva CDI set at curve 2, ada 42cc head, riva fa's, pro-tech stuffer, w 13/19 solas, free flow, pro-tech ride plate, r&d ext nozzle w/ a well sealed pump.

Rode yesterday and couldnt get a good run due to chop. The bike didnt feel to responsive out of the hole and my lows are set at 1 1/4 out. It idles good at 1500 but no color on plugs at all on front 2, back plug dark. Highest R's I got were 7150 @ 63mph on good runs. Any tuners in the KC area?
Im planning on taking it on some smooth water this weekend to try and tune it, but Im wondering if Im wasting my time with this set-up. So much for see-ing 70.
TWISID, I FEEL YOUR PAIN!!!!

You are at way too low on the pop-off.

Try the jetting recommended. It has been tested and it works.

Thanks Fercho. Ill put the stock N/S back in (1.5's) and get some 80 gram springs and 110 pilots. Do you think I should change the resrictor jet as well, I used one of the stock mains? How about disabling the Acc Pump, anything to do besides just unhooking it?
