quote:QuickMick, I was just trying to make a point and give due respect to the forum members I mentioned. As long as you asked . In my opinion there are many species of tuner. First and at the top of the game are the gifted 2-stroke "engine and pipe designers", Darren & Dan (dont think Dan does pipes) Then comes the "master race tuner, aftermarket part manufacturers", TJ, Bill, Bo and others like them that do the research and testing needed to develop parts for our boats,to make them haul a$$. "Master tuner" is the next group of wrenches. To me it includes all successful shops and individuals that can put together aftermarket parts in the right combinations to create a dependable fast boat, some of these master tuners modify OEM or aftermarket parts to get the most out of them. This is a large group and talent varies as does expertise in certain areas. Last are "tuner slugs" like us regular guys tuning our boats to the best of our abilities with whatever we have available. Almost forgot about Fercho not sure how to fit him in, I am told he needs a class of his own. Maybe a meticulous research tuner JMHO |
