hey,
i just bought a used yzf600r and the bike came with a vance & hines s4 titanium slip on. does the bike need to be jetted as well i've noticed it idles kind of rough and the throttle is very jumpy between 1500 and 2000. would jetting the bike make it smoother. -new at bikes, looking for help. |

IMO, I don't think jetting is going to help you at that low RPM...you're barely off idle.
Don't forget to check the chain...a loose chain will cause a sharp "surge" you when you open the throttle from coasting in a low gear, especially if you're new and haven't developed proper throttle control. (the chain will be slack and the countershaft sprocket has to "reel in" the chain...building up energy, then gets suddenly transferred to the wheel when the slack is removed) Good luck |
