being that it's set at 8650... can you run the motor at 8600 or 8620 or 8640 with no ill-effects from the ECU itself.

putting mechanics and the motor and valvetrain and all that jazz aside, will the ECU maybe start to make the ski act a little funny before the actual rev limiter or it will perform perfectly with no timing pull or whacky programming or fuel curves whatsoever all the way on up and then the rev limiter programming will ONLY show it's face at 8650?

thanks!

No "funny stuff" with our ECU. Rev limiter kicks in at 8,650. Wink

sweet!! thanks for the response.

Does Riva have any intentions of possibly exploring new mapping and improving their ECUs to deliver greater performance... this question derives from the intel that the new Rotax Racing ECUs supposedly come with a pretty appealing rev limit set at 8800 rpms.

Does Riva intend on exploring further development of their ECUs to compete with the competition's constant re-mapping and improvement of their ECUs?

thanks for your time

We don't see a need to "improve" our ECU's. They significantly improve performance while maintaining exceptional reliability. Wink

I don't think he meant they needed "improving" only that a higher rev limit would be a very nice thing to have and maybe something you could offer as an option. Either the standard 8650 or 8850 as a "race only" version??

Also to carry Shibby's question a little farther, what RPM's do you suggest your ecu be run @?

Can you run right up to 8650 without the rev limiter dumping timing out and costing performance?

Understood. We don't see a need to raise the rpm any higher. For those that wish to run at a higher rpm there are alternative engine management systems out there.

We recommend our kits be run at the advertised rpm for optimal performance and reliability.

215 models
Stage I: 8,100
Stage II: 8,100
Stage III: 8,400

Stage I: 8,000
Stage II: TBA
