Hello, I just recently purchased a green 2005 rxp. I was curious if anyone knows if the oil that is in the boat when you pick it up is any kind of special break-in oil or is it just the same seadoo 4 stroke oil that is recommended in the service manual. The reason I am wondering about this is that 10 hrs seems like a long time to be running the same oil during the break-in period when you have the most metal particles and shavings floating around in the motor. Is changing the oil at 4 hrs just a waste or is there any benefit to changing it early. I love this boat and it is one of the coolest machines I have ever ridden and I just want to be sure that I break it in right. Thanks for any info.

Its not special oil .. i personally have owned many many diff skis and i own an 04 rxp and i changed my oil at 3 hours then 10 then 25 then every 25 after that that is what i prefer for the very same reason u just said to me 10 hrs is to long on a fresh shaved block and motor i believe in changing the oil and filter in the times i said ... Some will say im crazy and its a complete overkill but I just spent 10 k on my ski and with my experience I feel im rite ..
