So im driving on lake michigan yesterday and i was jumping a boats wake. I stopped the enigne then started it back up and it ran liek crap. SOmething was wrong electronically the screen was flickering in and out. then the jet ski finally died. I check all the fuses and nothing was wrong with those. i unplugged the battery and connected a battery pack to it to see if i canstart the motor and unplug the pack to see if the motor will run on the alternators generated power. NOPE! My alternator is blown. After 20 hours i have a blown alternator...thank god for warentees. My jetski goes in tomorrow at 10:30

PWCs dont have a alternator type of charging system.

It's called a stator, your ski is not going to start without the key, it will crank but will not start (DESS)
Its possible you have a bad battery.

alls i hear when i try to turn the engine over is clicking coming from i think the flywheel. the jet ski beeps when i put the key in but doesn't start.

I took it to where i bought the rxp from and they said it wasnt the battery but a part that works inlien with the charging system and that theyd have to order it from canada and that it will take a long time because they are in a holiday week now.

The part the failed is called a rectifier. Anybody wanna clue me in as to what it does?

To put it simple the stator produces AC power the rectifier converts it to DC power (12volt)
