Just got this in from a teammate:

quote:
Doug Brown with his crew and sponsor Billy Robertson (owner of Honda/Seadoo of North Hollywood), on his Rotax modified 4-Tec SC has done it again! Congratulations to Doug, Billy, and Nils Castillo who prepared and modified Doug's Sea Doo 4-Tec SC with components from Cal-Jet, Rotax Racing's sole distributor for North America.

Fully recovered from his win at LB2Cat, Doug Brown ran away from all the competition on his way to taking first overall in the Pittsburg APBA GP Endurance Race today.

The conditions were rough and the wind was blowing from start to finish in what Doug called an awesome venue for the GP race. His only question was "Where is everyone?". Doug expressed appreciation to all who had put together this great event but was really looking for more of the top riders to show up for this race.

That's two in a row for Doug! I'm putting out a challange for any team or rider who thinks they are fast to show up at last few races of the season. We need more participation at these great events and I think Doug would enjoy having some even more serious competition. Are the big names afraid to run endurance against the new Sea Doo 4-Tec SC and Doug Brown? Just kidding, of course, but more participation is needed to keep this sport alive

No, he won't be attending the Nationals. His ski is being prepped for another race out on the west coast.

Doug needs to come to Texas. I believe Andy Wise or Mike Younts would have a nice GREEN surprice for him. Heck Doug didn't even show up to the Endurence nationals this year???????

Don't want my opinion? ask all the nice folks at RPM how fast these Texas racers are.

as far as the LB2cat i remember the teamsport folks taking home 3 of the top 5 positions last year.

Rob 242 yes the texas riders are a fast bunch of racers, but lets put things in perspective and don't get me wrong i or any of the racers from rpm are complaining.we went into this race knowing what we were faced with.

First we had to change our quick fill systems a month or so before the nationals because of a ruling from the ijsba that deemed them illegal.a system we have raced with since 1995 and legal at the last two nationals,or if we didn't change them we would be givena 1 min penalty.we elected to change them, bad move on our part.given the time constraints the new system wasn't tested and led to fuel starvation problems on 3 of our boats and burned down pistons in each of them.

Now for the races themselves 1st race sat it was tyler white out in front,an rpm boat 2nd an ultra from texas 3rd and an rpm boat 4th.the 4th place boat was closing on 3rd and ready to pass went down, fuel starvation problem.the 2nd place boat finished 2nd congrats to tyler who finished 1st.

2nd race sat it was younts in the lead with 4 rpm boats right behind and reeling him in.1st boat went down electrical problem 2nd and 3rd boats went down blown pistons due to fuel starvation,4th boat finished behind younts eventhough it was having problems.congrats to younts

1st race sunday rpm boat out in front and pulling away went down 1hr 10min into race broken steering cable.

2nd race sunday younts out in lead and again 4 rpm boats right behind 1st boat went down blown piston 2nd boat went down xhaust leak 3rd boar slowed down due to ride plate bolts backing out causing drag.4th boat which was me on what i call the yellow flame boat finished 5th overall and 1st in masters, this after holding off curtis rienberg,up untill 3 laps left in race when he finally got around me,bear in mind he,s 22yrs old and according to you texas folk one great rider.i'm 52yrs old and i also think curtis is one great rider.

So we can all say what if and reflect back.but i can tell you the texas riders are great racers and a great bunch of people to boot.the rpm team will be back next year and hopefully no curve balls will be tossed at us at the last minute.as we like to say that,s racing.MARK RPM RACING
