I just bought a 2007 speedster 150 215hp SCIC boat..

Ive heard you can gain 2-3mph just by adding a cold air intake.. But no one makes one for it..

Can someone help me with figuring out the best setup for one..?

Iver also heard that filling in the ride plate mounting holes with silicone can add 1mph too..

ask riva if the RXP or RXT power filter kit will work because its the same engine, i would thinl you only need to worry about clearance, but im not sure.

I actually got an email from one of the guys from RIVA who claimed to just leave the boat stock as the mods wont increase the speed that much and it was a waste of time and money..

But ive read on the GREENHULK website of people picking up 2-3mph just by adding a custom made intake and filling in the ride plate holes..

He didn't tell you it was a waste of time and money to be negative. He's was trying to save you time, trouble and $$$$.

He told you the same thing he's told everyone else that has inquired about modifying their Sport Boat. We've found that with Sport Boats there really isn't a lot to be gained when applying the same mods as with PWC. Sport Boats are somewhat similar to regular boats when it comes to performance. To get a little you have to do a lot. And even then there's no gaurantee you'll get your money's worth.

EG - Yamaha contracted us to put our Supercharger Kits on a AR230 (twin FX140 engine equipped wake board sport boat). It accelerated a little better, but the top end was the same. End result was basically something cool to look at and hear! Cool

BTW - The speed increases from the air intake and ride plate mods were achieved with PWC, not a Sport Boat. Wink

I have talked to people with the same boat as I, and they claim they picked up 300 RPMS just by adding a billet intake adapter and a K@N filter off of a short tube! Or 2-3mph.. Seems like a good gain to me..

WHAT DO YOU THINK????

I have not seen any documentation to support those claims. So, I'll have to stand by my previous post and what our tech rep explained to you.

One of you guys from riva must know someone or have the availability to take one or two of your intake kits for the jetski to a dealr and see if they will fit on the speedster!

This is coming from a potential customer!!

Man, talk about a huge gap in the sport boat performance parts!! LOL

I've seen gains with my boat 47mph top speed stock. I get 51mph now with the following
4" cold air intake
XS intercooler
Skat 13/17 three blade impeller
I made the same call to Riva two years ago and was told to just leave it alone...I decided to do it on my own and am happy with the gains. I think it's time to offer stage kits for the Sport boats and quit givin' us paying customers the run-around. It's insulting

I made my own 4" intake system using the stock intake and simply adding a Y-pipe and then a larger Air filter..

I picked up 100+rpm and i saw 57-58mph on the dreammeter for the first time.. with my girlfriend and i in the boat only..

Boat is now running 8100rpm on smooth water

It's all about $$....There's alot more to be made modding ski's than for the few people that own the boats....don't necessarily blame them, but yes it sucks Frown

Riva, I believe this guy added your Stage 3 to this boat and is achieving speeds of 70+mph.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=JN0vKaKXE40

*EDIT: I think it was more of an equivalent to your Stage 3, but he was using your Stage 3 supercharger.

Add:

Intercooler
Rude/B Kit/Green charger
4" Intake
Injectors
ECU

You WILL see gains, it's insane for anyone to say you won't.

I would say those mods on your boat would yield 63-65 mph.

RIVA uses the supercharger example on a AR230 Yami boat and that it didn't yield much. Well it also didn't deliever for the FX pwc either. It was a lot of money for not much performance.
