was at w.o.t and the ski just died. found the fuse blown. replaced it and it happened again. jumped out both bat fuses and started it momentarilly. ran ok, jumper got "warm" turned it off. the 12 volt low was flashing while it was running. checked the service manual and it said that a bad rectifier can cause this. but it can not be tested with out running because it is integrated in the mpem. i was wondering if anyone else has had this happen because i would hate to spend the $ on it and that not be it. any help will be appreciated. thanks, paul c.

I have seem the starter bendix break a tooth off and go thru the stator and causing a direct short a ohm test on the stator will verify this

The MPEM s on this model have this problem,you need a new one,no way to get around it.
