Hey guys and gals. I'm not a racer, I'm just a 38 year old guy who likes to go really fast and have fun. I currently have a 98 xplimited with minimal mods, because I always heard horror stories from guys who moddified theirs and launched the motor. Heck, I'm very anal about maintainance and always ran premium gas and my xp needed a new motor after 30 hours. It was replaced under warrantee because it turned out to be a lean carb issue, that they should have fixed when I brought it in for the ten hour check. I have no idea how many hours it has now, but it has been pretty reliable since the new motor.

I've been reading the forums for a few days looking for answers, but haven't relly found what I wanted to know. Here's my question for you guru's. What is the reliability of an RXP with stage 2 or 3 kit? I'm picking up my new 2006 RXP (got a heck of a deal on it) Jan 2nd and want to do a stage 3 kit on it as long as it's not going to cost me an arm and a leg in reliability issues. I'm very mechanically inclined and almost always do my own wrenching as long as I have the time, so installing the kit is not an issue. I am also aware of the supercharger washer issue, so I guess what I'm asking is have you guys with the stage 3 kit had alot of issues from it? If not should I break in my RXP and take it in for the 10 hours service before installing the kit? I know when I bought my xp I had to bring it in for the 10 hour service or it voided the warantee. Does it really matter since I'm not going to have much of a warantee after I install it? I guess they will still have to warantee anything that I didn't effect by installing the stage 3 kit. I'm going to do one of the kits either stage 2 or 3, just wanted some advice.

One last question. Would you guys go with the Power Filter Kit, Pro-Series that gets the air from up under the seat or the one that comes with the stage 3 kit? I ride mostly on lakes and rivers.

Thanks alot for your time and I look forward to your advice. Hopefully I will soon be able to share some advice with all of you.

Go with the rear intake then. Since it's more direct to the SC and you get a larger volume of air, most notice an RPM and speed gain over the powerfilter kit.

I gained 1mph with my riva powerfilter on my S1 ski. Most who go with the rear intake (which has been custom 4" until riva released their own) were reporting twice the RPM gain over the riva powerfilter and twice the speed gain. So another 1mph over the powerfilter. Better acceleration also.

2004 RXP
stock-67.5+mph
Stage 1-71+mph
Stage 2-74+mph
Current Mods: RIVA 3" intake, RIVA 2* wedge, RIVA grate, Rotax Racing SC wheel and spacer, Green Hulk shorty waterbox, 42# injectors, flared j-pipe, RIVA Pro OPAS blocks, GH clutch washers, Ride plate holes filled, XS IC kit, Solas 15/20
NEW SPEEDS COMING SOON!!!
