It's always best to use a GPS or radar gun for testing. The stock speedo's just aren't accurate enough. Make sure you baseline your craft before you begin modifying it so you have a starting point to work. After each modification or change do a run and document the results. Set up a special notebook (test log) to track your mods, results, etc so you can go back any reference should you ever have a problem or just want to look back on what you did and the affects it had.

Comparing stock craft set up identically (fuel level, rider weight, trim in nuetral, etc) a RXP-X will accelerate faster than a RXT-X. A RXT-X should accelerate faster than a RXP. All will do about the same top speed in stock form. That's "great"!! That's the first key to unlocking the speed potential of the X-boats. Because our intake grate is more efficient than the stock grate you might experience a little more cavitation upon initial acceleration. You can try repitching the stock prop, but it will be hard to get rid of because of it's design. Once you upgrade to the 'R' Series 15/22 Solas Impeller and Pro-Series Reduction Nozzle the cavitation won't be an issue.

Yes. As you add more components of the kit you will see increases in performance. The grate and impeller allow the rpm to rise some. The most significant increase will come from the Performance Power Filter Kit. The increased rpm provided by these components requires you to install the Pro-Series Reduction Nozzle so you don't hit the rev limiters. The stock reduction nozzle is 87mm. Our nozzle closes the outlet down to 82mm. Optimal engine rpm is 8,000 with the stock ECU.

The stock limiter on the X-boats is 8,100. But, that's the hard rev limiter. A "soft" limiter kicks in around 8,050 (+ or -). It's subtle at first, but becomes more noticeable as you approach 8,100. That's why we state the optimal peak rpm for the X-boats is 8,000.

Riva My RXT-X tach showed 8060rpm at one time, So the limiter is only 100rpm more? at 8100rpm, why so close most give a couple hundred like 8400rpm what happen to that? Mine seems to hesatate when you give it a hand full of throttle is this right. because if you ease in to the throttle it doesnt do that. Or is that cavitation, to me it seems like its cutting off the fuel or power. never had a boat do that kind of power loss, my other boats never did that.

Actually, 100rpm is a lot. If you're seeing 8,060rpm regularly I would recommend having your prop repitched slightly. There are many vairables that come into play that could allow your craft to run a at slightly higher rpm as compared to another. What you're experiencing is the hard rev limiter. If the prop slips enough to allow the engine to rev to 8,100rpm (even for a split second) the rev limiter will kick in basically killing the power.

It only hit 8060rpm one time so far, most of the time its 8000rpm. the hesatation starts around 7000rpm then i back off the throttle. So hopefully the shop will find this problem when i take it in monday for 10hrs check up.
