is there a reason for these clamps or can a adjustable hose clamp be used when adding the blow-off valve kit

You can use a worm gear typle clamp, but Oetikers are much more reliable. They're used on applications where you won't need to remove the clamp repeatedly.

There are reusable Oetikers, but they can fail at the clamping point just like a worm gear type clamp if removed repeatedly.

got the new blow-off valve kit but the oeticker clamps seem to be too small to force over the lip of the supercharger and with the added tape on the elbow seems as if this is a battle that can't be won ,any suggestions on how to get the clamps on

What tape are you referring to? There shouldn't be any tape on any part of the Blow-off Valve Kit or any of the components related to its installation.

it looks like tape by the way it's layered but after looking at it ,it seems to be molded to the elbow, and i can't seem to get the clamps over the lip of the supercharger housing

That's the one. It should be snug, but not so tight that you can't get it on. Scratch Head Did you put the Oetiker onto the silicone tube or onto the supercharger housing before installing the Blow-off Valve onto the supercharger outlet?

Yep! The end of the silicone tube won't be flared so it should slide over. If it's still tough try spraying a little glass cleaner on the outside of the silicone tube before sliding the Oetiker onto it.
