i just purchased a 99 gtx limited 951 for my wife,,its running a little rough so i thought maybe a powervalve was sticking!!! any how they were both pretty gummed up,cleaned up with bombardia spray!! also noticed that one pv cap has a red spring under it the other cap has none,,, is this normal?? i found the other red spring in the front tub in a bag with owners manual.

yeah you will need all the springs, these maintains the valve closed with some adjustable pressure, to open when pressure is applied. If there's no spring your valves will be open and closing at any time, and thats a secure failure.

thanks benjie,,these rotax pv engines are new to me im use to kawasaki`s,,,the pv`s cleaned up nice only one spring Roll Eyes no wonder it was running rough,,there is also two more springs in the bag besides the other red one, but they are a different color,,blueish green i think, but not as firm of spring.hope the spray i used want hurt the valves.
