I installed the RIVA throttle conversion last weekend, thank god that thumb throttle is out of my life. Thanks RIVA! I have one minor issue, there seems to be some slack in the throttle cable now. A little bit of styrofoam between the end of the cable and the finger throttle helped eliminate some of the plan. Performance seemed fine after the install I was able to get up to 7900-7950 RPM, I would just like to be able to get some of the slop out of the throttle. Can I adjust the cable?
The cable is adjustable at the throttle wheel on the throttle body. Be sure you secure it properly (without overtightening the jam nuts). It's a good idea to use Loc-tite on the threads.
Also, make sure you're able to pull the throttle trigger all the way to the grip without stretching the cable.
It would be best to do the cable adjustment while the Blow-off Valve hose is disconnected from the throttle body so you can view the throttle plate. When adjusted properly the throttle plate should be perpendicular to the air flow when the throttle trigger is pulled against the grip fully.
