Sure is a lot of speculation on this prop. What is the story here?

I'm 15 Minutes from the Ocean, which is my preferance for riding. As often as conditions permit, I keep the throttle pinned. Now, I'm not refering to reckless riding, as I want my skis' to last, but in heavy chop when I'm unhooked up in the air I let off the throttle and back on it again as soon as I hit the water so the engine won't be bouncing off the rev limiter. I have noticed when jumping waves if I get the ski vertical and come down hard the engine struggles to run, like it's only running on one or two cylinders. In a few seconds it clears up and runs fine. I thought there was a problem at first, but considering it only does it if I'm really jumping high, going vertical and coming down hard, plus the fact that I remember someone posting that after they took their RXP in for a similar symptom - (unclear if they were riding in the same fashion) - It came back slower than they took it in; I decided to leave well enough alone. In afterthought, I've concluded that possibly the reason for this may be that I vaguely recollect reading some sort of sensor in the EMS that has a "limp home mode" and the TOPS (tip over protection system) that maybe is triggered somehow with the "aggressive" riding. Other than that, everything's fine. Hope that helps, stevenq.

Jarrett,
You should just send your impeller to Dave at Impros. He works wonders with stock impellers. Have had many done by him. I'm currently having a spare RXP impeller re-worked by him. Will post on this site to let you know how it goes. Don't want to upset the gods.

RC,
If possible, how about a little "history lesson" on why the RXP impellor is not released yet?

I don't think anyone blames you guys specifically. I bet it would help if folks understood the specifics.

Also, what about every RXP owner in the WORLD calling Skat and Solas to get the ball rolling? Razz

We and Solas wanted to make sure we had the perfect impeller for the RXP. Sometimes that takes longer than we or our customers care for. But, it's better than rushing a bad product onto market. There's nothing more to it than that. Wellllll, maybe there is.....

The additional testing and tweaking has yielded another 1~2mph over the first test Solas Impellers. Eek Our test unit RXP with just a Power Filter Kit, Pump Wedge and Solas Concord Impeller ran mid to high 71's consistently yesterday in terrible weather conditions. It was hot and humid all morning and then the rain rolled in. The air quality was terrible. Trust me, the wait will be well worth it. Wink

I have seen 70 already with sponsons, blockoffs, filter and a less than perfect ppg repitched impeller (repitched too aggressive). When the kit is complete, in perfect conditions, those speeds may be possible. I have not tried the wedge yet. Waiting for the intake grate. On a different note, how come we did not here about this lean condition until riva released their kit w/ positive results. R&D had a filter out first and nothing was ever said. I guess it was because people weren't posting positive results with that kit.

I'm getting old. It took me a minute to pick up on this.
