RANCART, You did not answer the simple questions RIVA asked you that were very important. So far your post have been of no help at all in resolving the issue if any.

Maybe you will answer my 3 questions:

1. What nut did you use to hold the impeller on and what size was it?

2. Did you put the stock washer(spacer) behind the nut before installation?

3. If GP built one, how come it was fine when it left PPG but was defective when you installed it?

Rancart, the Vortech impeller comes with a special nut, different than the Acorn nut that is on the stock impeller.
If you did not use the new nut, (its an open nut, not a acorn nut) then yes the impeller will not be held properly and can strike the housing.
So your saying GP built you an supercharger and the impeller hit? Seem strange that GP did not check that prior to shipping it to you

Yes I did use the new acorn nut that came with it,the second time it hit PPG built it,the third time PPG built with the stock SC wheel it was ok, that why I thought the Riva SC wheel maybe out of spec.

Hi rancart, (off topic) if I were you I would try the Riva air intake with your set up but ofcourse this is only my opinion, right now my neighbour "magic" solas prop is in my garage i was supposed to tested today in my moded stage 2 RXT but my local weather is very windy and is rainning so I would have to leave the test for another day... Roll Eyes we also have already the 81mm nozzle in our hands so as soon my neighbour return from his vacations we will tested and post the results in the board ASAP!!! I am the person that do all the testing on his moded stage 1 R/R RXP, currently my 05' RXT and my neighbour 04' RXP are the fastest SC ski's on our area.

Yes, i agreed with you on this, the "tweaked" solas prop work a (LOT) better than the Impros stage 3 repitched stock prop, we did a comparison test a few weeks ago between the stock oem prop vs the Impros 12/19.5 vs the Solas "magic" prop, with the Impros impeller, we gain 1.5 MPH on Gps over the stock prop with more acceleration and midrange power but when we tested the solas prop the difference was like day and night, the boat feel like if someone put a nitro oxide bottle inside the engine the acceleration was SICK and we gain 1.3 MPH in Gps (OVER) the Impros prop, i can't wait to test the 81mm nozzle Wink

Rancart, you say you put on the "Acorn" nut that came with the impeller. Problem is it does not come with an acorn nut. Only the stock nut is an acorn nut.
If you have an acorn nut on there, then that is the problem.

Rancart, do you remember if you put the spacer under the nut? Look in the box with your old SC wheel, if ther is a washer like spacer still in the end of the impeller, then thats whats wrong.
Hopefully we can sort out the issue.

I was just thinking the install sheet was not in the box from Riva, would the spacer be shown there? Someone on the net told me the torque setting for the nut.
