That's common. Not sure why though.

you can never trust the wish meter on sea doos -- i have a 2007 gtx limited with some mods on it and a gps it hits around 66 mph right now -- with 2 ppl on it -- funny i was out sat. and a guy about 50 lbs lighter then me and a girl smaller then the one on the back of my ski ( he was on a 2008 rxp-x)came next to me wanting to run i bet him with ease --- he swears we where doing 80 plus -- after i showed him my gps at 66 mph he said that there is no way his ski is that slow --- ppl need to remember from the factory most only run between 60 to 65 from the agreement with the USCG

Yeah I run into that all the time with sales people at dealers claiming their watercraft will do these astronomical speeds, knowing of course, they are completely wrong and they are just trying to sell the watercraft. With most dealerships, the best information to get from them is how to finance the ski or fix it when it's not working. There are obviously dealers, like Riva and others we all know, that really "truthfully" know and performance.

I've come across that myself when I go to boat shows or events wearing regular clothing. I'll go along with it sometimes to see how far they'll go. But I don't let our staff get away with it here. Can't afford to!
