i am looking into a new ski. I am currently looking at these 2 skis. Was wondering if anyone could tell me top speeds on the 2 skis or make a recomendation for a ski in the same price range and ability.

Whatever you do don't listen to the people on this board. They will just try to suck you into their nightmare. Power valve problems, pump problems, impeller problems, crank problems etc... on the GPR. It's a shame that they can't let it go and give good advice to people. The XP-DI is about 1 mph faster then the RX-DI. You will see with the RX-DI from 60-62mph. The XP-DI will be from 61-63mph. The RX-DI is the choice if you want to ride 2 up or you want reverse. They are both way better products then anything Yamaha has out. Go with whichever you want. The XP is an unstable ski with two people on it. I love my RX-DI. It just won Muscle craft of the year for 2003. Beat all the rest of the ski's. P.S. These two ski's get the best gas mileage of any ski's out there. Twice as good as any Yamaha ever produced.
You S*** I never been ran out from an XP especially more with an RX with my GPR stock to stock and in all types of weather !!! it who drive the boat !!!! not to mention when I was with triples and race a big bore XPL with 50`s carbs also !! he coud not even stand a chance.
I even never had pump , valves or crank problem, I know yamis here which are nearly over 300 hrs with no single problems !!
Dj , go with the 1300R, you take care of it and it will take care of you
