i recently bought a brand new RXP and I have done 70.1mph on my Garmin GPS. Im lookin to do that stage 1 kit from either Riva or Perrys Performance. I heard that the Perrys kit the aftermarket exhuast exits out the factory whole and the Riva does not. Im not really lookin to cut any holes in my ski for aftermarket exhuast. Is this true or do they both use the factory exhuast exit?
Next question is, I was thinkin of smoothin the bolt holes on the ride plate n stuff and triming the basket for the reverse, does it help that much doing this and does it take alot away from how they back up. I use my reverse a decent amount n I would had to not have it.
My last question is the kit comes wit the OPAS block off kit. I heard when u add the OPAS delete it makes the ski very unpredictable on turns. Is this true ir not? Any info u guys can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot

I'll answer your technically related questions and let our forum members respond with their experiences for the others.
Our Rear Exhaust Kit requires that you create an opening in the transom area of the hull for the outlet as well as remove the OPAS. The OPAS arms inside the hull are located where the exhaust tube connects to the exhaust outlet.
The reverse gate appears to obstruct the flow of water exiting the steering nozzle when in actuality it does not. The water exits in a tight stream that is spiraling. During the majority of riding the steering nozzle does not point upward towards the reverse gate.

is there that much of a difference re routing the exhaust through the back of the hull then through the stock plumbing. Seems liek with the free flow in place the only other restriction of exhaust pressure is a couple of 90 degree turns that are all mandrel bent which should not loosen up the back pressure, right? What about the OPAS block offs. unpredictable steering? is this true? most of your rxp mods require these so will we lose handling for speed? thanks

Im gona have to agree with RXP 41, also no offense to you riva i love ure stuff and this forum u guys have is great. But it seems like it was a little planned out that if you want the free flow well then you have to buy this to for it to work. Seems like a huge selling factor to put bigger holes in peoples wallets. Why not just of made a really nice plumbing set up going to the stock outlet? Because at the Age that RXP 41, me and probably plenty of other people on this forum as well are at, we were lucky enough to get these expensive machines and the last thing we want to do is spend more money then we need to on it or drill 2 inch holes into the transom of it. I could be wrong and im sure that there might be a very good explination why but all i know is if u guys made a very straight low restrictive performace exhaust that exited through the stock exhaust outlet id order it the day it came out. Im sure there are companies that do make an exhaust like this but to be honest id rather buy it from a name like riva.

Riva makes their products with a mod path in mind....like stage 1,2,3.....in order to fit the larger intercooler you need to move the exhaust exit to the port side of the ski....thats the simple fact of it....The OPAS is in the way of a port side rear exit...I guess if you really wanted a pump area exit you could make a hole on the opsite side and have it exit there..allowing you to keep OPAS..but you would have to rig some piping up....

We offer a Free Flow Kit which utilizes the stock exhaust outlet. Our "Rear Exhaust" Kit is different.
The motivation for our method was purely performance. Not financial. Fewer bends means less back pressure (resistance) which translates to better performance. As TorquePhoto posted, to do one thing you need to do another.
