found out something interesting i didnt know today!!! Smile i was at my local sea-doo dealer today and i went over and sit down on a 05 gtx limited,,as soon as i sat on it i noticed the steering (handle bars)were a good 3 inches higher up than the RXP`s,,,to my dismay i notice it has a knob underneath(tilt system) that raises the entire steering system,,well i went over to the service department and had them look it up on there parts index!!! Big Grinit will direct fit on the rxp all you have to do is buy the tilt mechanism and the bottom plate the little knob comes through and walla!!! you have a complete tilt system on an rxp this system will actually give you about 5 inches of movement up or down,,but in the all the way up position it is a good 3 to 4 inches higher than the stock rxp ststem. Big Grin

I looked into this a while back and was really hoping someone would step up to the plate and offer such a kit. Riva, could you put a kit together for us? I'm ready to buy too!

And the parts list

that is the exact same parts diagram he showed me!!that one big part with the shaft retails for about 198.99 dealer cost is 109.99 and the other big part is 49.98 but anyhow he told me it would be between $250 and $300 installed.

We aren't in the habit of using OEM parts to make kits. Reason being we design our products to be improvements on the materials and design.

UMI offers a steering system for the RXP already that we are more inclined to sell as it is much stronger and will last longer. The initial cost is more than what's listed in for the OEM parts, but you will only need to buy one in the lifetime of your craft! Wink

I would prefer the stock steering, but in tilt mode.

Could you offer a discount on the parts in that list and sell it as a tilt steering kit?

Jerry after the Pump you WANT a UMI steering, there's nothing that improves the ergonomics and controls on a SeaDoo.

i wouldnt be using the tilt either, for the past 11 years every ski i have had has a umi system on it. just imagine how nice that all black rxp would be with a nice new umi system with possibly(dunno if it exists) fatbar conversion. imo it would be much nicer looking craft with it an would make it steer so much nicer and controlable.

not slamming anyone here ,,i guess its a matter of opinion!!personaly i think the umi steering systems look tacky on a pwc,,if i want that look ill just go get on my kx 500,,i dont care for the exposed handlebars and the cheap looking motorcross pad on a $10,000.00 dollar watercraft!just my opinion Razz if i was a racer id love it! but riding on local waterways its just not necessary,,and besides my wife and son may want to adjust them to there likens and with a umi thats not an option.

I agree Jeff. My ski is not a race ski, just a fast lake boat Big Grin

I want the padded bar because sometimes my sons ride up front and it would offer some protection. That UMI setup looks like it would slice you to pieces.

Im ready to buy all the pieces to convert my steering to tilt. Maybe someone at Riva can verify what pieces it will take and provide a list of part numbers with prices?

Thanks!

Please contact our sales reps for any further information on this. 800/241-4544 or orders@rivamotorsports.com. I'm not in sales nor in charge of the department. I will pass along that there is interested in this though.

So I've heard. You have to do us a favor though. Please don't e-mail several different RIVA employees about the same thing. It creates more problems than good. Instead of one person focusing on the request you cause several people to "get bogged down" which delays other areas of concern. Such as getting your order together in time to ship!! Wink

Please use only the e-mail address I provided in my previous post. Thank you.

patience ,,patience oh green one. Big Grin i actually went back and sat on that gtx limited again today,,that tilt makes a BIG,BIG difference in the way it feels,, i turned the steering all the way to the left on both ski`s and there is a good 3 to 4 inches rise difference.

I didn't mean to post that you were to blame. I should have been more specific. Red Face Sorry.

O.K. ill take the blame!!! Big Grin this should be a big seller,,,that seems to be one of the biggest complaints about the rxp!!!!
i still think i should get a comission of some kind,,,maybe when i buy my stage 2 kit riva will give me a discount for boosting there buisness. Big Grin my dealer did tell me i could buy the parts for 10% over dealer cost though which is much, much cheaper than retail. Wink
