I have a 96 spx and was running fine then started to die. I would run any were from 30 seconds to 10 minutes thenit would just turn off. No warning lights before it would die. Once it would stop moving i could start it up and go agin till it turned off again. Runs perfect till it turns off no warning whats so ever. Starts right up runs perfect again till it dies. Any ideas.

Possibly a loose electrical connection....does it bog out or just turn off? Could be a number things.....

Seadoo has a problem with fuel lines, the inside of the fuel line breaks down making a brown liquid like tarry substance clogging the small fuel filters in the carbs.
When the filters plug up the motor runs lean and causes a piston seizure (motor shuts off). All Seadoos 94-02 have this fuel line (except RFI) it is gray and has the name (TEMPO) on it,this stuff is bad news for Seadoos. Some are worse than others. If it were mine I would change the fuel lines and clean the carbs. ![]() |
