Does RIVA have replacement chargers? If so I can probably get Seadoo to pay for one for me and more than likely everyone else could follow the same lead!

Seadoo lays it on the dealer and the dealer lays it on Seadoo. I don`t really see how it can be the dealers fault. Inevitably I have to just wait. Sucks but thats all I can do. Get to use my jetski next April. **** its good paying a note and insurance for a year.

Been wondering,,,what is everyone`s opinion on installing a BOV to prevent stress to the charger. I realize it won`t hurt but would it really help in this situation or is it strictly a casting flaw from sub standard material?

Not at all! But if you would have read the whole thread you would have gotten all the information. No where, no how did anyone say 60hrs,,,PERIOD! You put that in there. Everyone knows there is a problem with the clutch. Your a little late with your negative BS. The impeller chewed the housing on mine requiring a new sc. Got it!

We're all well aware of the problem. I'm curious as to where the negative attitude is coming from and why? Posts like that don't help anyone. The opposite of what our forums are about....helping.

My rxt is currently in the shop for the scc, and I would like to know if what they are replacing them with is in any way superior to what came on them stock or is it the same and am I going to have the same problem every twenty to twenty five hours.
Lets look at the basic answer to the flawed design. Sea-Doo took a turbo(Vortec) and mechanically drove It with gears and clutches.
A supercharger is/must be driven off a belt (for shock).. not a gear driven turbo like sea-doo choose..(vortec is ok for cars but not for PWC. (As you are finding out now)
Bad application IMO
Solution. Remove it and put a real positive displacement supercharger or go the turbo route.
HOSS. I said 60hrs as to be a normal comment as to when a S/C will fail., you were one the of fortunate folks that had yours killed at about 20 hrs.

just a bigger band-aid. May as well wait to see what is released over the winter.
Let off throttle when the pump comes unhooked and you will minimize problems. I've got over 125 hours on the first release of the ceramix and no problems.
Also, see Nitro's remarks a few posts up - he is a wise man.
Is the SC clutch a problem? Hell yes it is. But so far, Sea-Doo seems to be acknowledging the problem because they are warrantying every clutch failure I've heard of. So I don't bash them too much. They pushed the envelope, and have experienced a problem in doing so. At least they are stepping up to the plate to fix skis that blow clutches. It would be nice if the SC clutch design was better, but failing that, it's nice that SD doesn't leave us in the cold. JMO
Doesn't have us in the cold? I've been without my ski for 3 weeks in the peak of summer!!! Paying $300 a month for it to collect dust at the shop! They said it can take 3 days, or even 3 months more WTF? That is total BS in my opinion. I wish I would have gone the sport boat route like I wanted. I would've been at the beach this whole weekend, weather was awesome, but I have to sit and wait until who knows when because of their design flaw.
You really think Im gonna wait until after winter to have my ski back!....yeah right....I'd much rather give it away to someone who wants to keep making the payments.
