Mark S. I have a stage 2 on my rxp. From rotax racing in Canada there. Mark tested my boat, and gps it and he told me he ran a 76 1/2. I was hitting mt rev limiter he didn't like that so he repitched my prop. I haven't personally tested my boat yet, too cold. I live in Mich.
Pete, we have in this forum a very popular member from the state of Indiana that is always bragin (in the Yami board) about how fast his stage 2 plus "porting" EFI Gp1300r is and he even say that he holeshot all the RXP'S from his riding area "something that I personaly don't beleive " since we have a bunch of them (8) in our riding area (7) stock and one moded with a complete Rotax Racing stage 1 package with the optional external intercooler (my neighbour boat) and all of them (the stock ones) eat for breakfast all this stage 2 carburated 1200 and EFI 1300 Gpr's (we don't even badder to race our moded RXP against them . Since i see that you live not so far from him (Michigan) i was wondering if some day you two can get together to perform a grudge race match to see who is the real BOSS in your area.

I've got an RXP and a GPR stage 2 and the RXP is bone stock. They are neck and neck. Out of the hole goes to the rxp bigtime. topspeed during race 66.7mph. although I have hit 68 on both of them before not racing. (GPS #s)

Gp twin, thanks for your honest and unbiased response, this is EXACTLY what we see every time that we grudge race those stage 2 Gpr's from our local riding area, the RXP'S ALWAYS destroyed them from the hole and in the midrange and stay with them in the top end (IF) the water is like glass BUT if they encounter anything less than smooth waters durring the race the RXP say BYE BYE!!!! but this guy (you know who I am talking about) (INSIST) that he holeshot RXP'S all the time using a (HEAVY) Solas Concord 14/21 set-back prop, this is why I would LOVE to see a match race between this two boats since he claim a top end speed of over 74 mph and this moded stage 2 R/R RXP is right there also.
p.s. I bet that this match would put a end to all this "Fantasy stories"

Thanks peteshauling. Mark said a stage 2 would run in the 76 to 78 mph range depending on how I wanted it set up for acceleration. Sounds like you decided to skip the new camshaft option with the stage 3 kit. What did you decide on for handling components?
Hey guys I have the stage 2 GTX SC from Rotax Racing..I just finished putting aprox 80 hrs on the ski this summer with no problems at all.So I find the kit is relible.. As for speeds My averages on almost any given day was just shy of 71 mph on gps..I think I peaked out a few times @ the 72 mph mark..This year I will be adding a few things that I did not have in the machine last year..I did not have the RXP pistons...Or the RXP supercharger overdrive gears..I am also thinking about buying the cam...I know it is pretty expencive but I think the 15 hp gain is somewhat worth it..I did have the fortune of riding a fully prepped RR stage 2 RXP as well and all I can say is WOW..76 mph is a whole different feeling on an RXP from 71 mph on a GTX...The holeshot is sick..peteshauling...I hope you have strong forearms!! The boat I was on was well under propped as well I think it easily could have hit the 78-80 mph mark..Mind you these conditions were as about as friendly as you could get..(I still prefer the hull on the GTX in the ruff stuff) Anyways here is a link to what some of the modifications look like on my boat last year...As I have said this year I will be going to I guess the Rotax Racing stage 3 kit..As well I have spent ALOT more time dressing my engine compartment up..(Mandrell bent alluminum tube for the I.C. and a few other dress up goodies)Oh and I screwed around with the color scheme a bit more on my ski as well..To sum up in as few words as possible..If you want a fast ski..(Almost 10mph faster) get the kit ..Or at least do what I did..Get the stage one kit..Then after you realize the huge difference that makes over a stock ski..Go out and get the stage 2 kit wich will blow your mind all over again!! Ahh nitroshark...lol You still driving that fake 100 mph RXP with the photoshopped picture of the nitrus bottle...The last time I heard from you I think you Photo shopped the warp drive from the star trek enterprize into your engine compartment...And told us you hit warp 5.. For your information (OLDIE) there are more than a few ppl who have been on or beside my boat that are on certian forums that are more than willing to back up my #'s...And I doubt I will be losing any sleep trying to prove a point to fake #'s man...A.K.A. not-tru-shark
There are a few of us with all the mods on the RXP from Mark, and they are expence. but I race a Tripple piped Riva race yamaha 1200 and the hole shot is close with my stock RXP . I am 150 pounds more than the rider on the GPR. I have not raced the GPR since I put on the mods but I am sure that I will hole shot him. I will keep you posted this summer. The only problem with the RXP as with the Kaw 4 stroke is handling. No matter how fast you go if you can not turn it dose not help. We are working on a new shoe, intake, sponsons, pump LT Racing Keep it real, T.J.
Nitroshark is willing to share details on his set up and kits. Although I don't own a Honda, I do respect Nitro for being forthcoming with his info. I also believe the numbers from the Rotax Racing kits. Guess I'm just gullable.
Sorry nitro..wrong guy..Anyways I actually am not here to sell the product..Just to answer the questions asked with honesty..Not too sure how else to prove speed #'s though..Quite a few ppl in and around the boards with the same setup as well that are getting roughly the same #'s on thier GTX's..I tell you one thing I will be doing this spring is setting up a helmet cam and posting visuals of my gps @ speeds..I would like to think I am not a proffesional but someone who does'nt just throw his money into something without due proof it works..And the Rotax Racing kit has proved to be a worthy investment,,
For those with a rotax racing stage 2 rxp or who have ridden one, how stable is the boat at top speed? I'm likely going to get the stage 3 kit for the rxp but I hope with sponsons and an intake grate the boat will be safe at speeds close to 80 mph. For any one with a stage 2 or 3, what prop are you running? Thanks.
Hey Mark..The RXP I was on (a stage 3) was pretty stable I found for just recreational riding..I would recomend some handling upgrades if you are going to race it though..Stock sponsoons are kind of useless @ those speeds..As for the impeller I still believe the stock impeller (re-pitched) is your best bet..However having said that I have yet to be on a Machine (other than a stage 2 GTX) that had an aftermarket impeller for those kits.
Thanks two2curupt. If I'm going to spend 17 grand on an rxp with engine and handling mods I want to be sure the boat can handle the speed. Should be a blast to ride.

Mark S. I have a cam with my stage 2.
As far as handling I have the work sponsons. I love my boat I have some nice air brush painting on it I race my boat with 2 others in st clair they are ultra 150's with tripples and novi carbs. My buddy samone he gps at 76, 77, 78.Before I had my mods done, we would race and I'm gonna say our hole shot is equal, There were times I would get samone and other times he would get me out the hole. So this year with my stage 2 plus cam see how I match up with him.
