Hey Guys:
Can you be more specific on how to flush GP 1300 with anti-freeze? I tried using a drill pump which sucked the anti-freeze out of the bottle and down the flush port. Even with blocking the pump inlet line the feeds into the "Y" connector I wasn't able to get fluid out the sideports.
Any suggestions?
Regards,
jay

Clamp both waterlines coming in from and going out to the pump. Be careful not to damage the hoses. This will help build up pressure in the cooling system forcing water out the two bypasses up front under the bond flange.

Using a mixer like this one will make the job a lot easier!

This may sound like a dumb question from someone in a warm climate all year around, but why would you need to add anti-freeze to a GP1200 when you can blow the excess water out with a few blips of the throttle?

I am fully aware how cold some places can get, I snow ski'd here, down south, from 18 years of age, but I would have thought that a small amount inside would have plenty of room to expand.

I am interested to know.

You'll never get all of the water out. Even if you use an air hose! And, if it doesn't get warm enough to dry out the leftover water will damage the internals of the cooling system when it freezes. There are some pretty small nooks and crannies in the engine.

If you live above the freezing point then you only need to use Salt-Away. Even if you use fresh water. That's because there are minerals in fresh water that will, over time, begin to corrode the aluminum or collect as deposits that will reduce the capacity and ability of the cooling system to do it's job thoroughly.

The second water line out to the pump would be the one on the elbow of the stinger; correct?
