Where is the best place to install an automatic bilge pump on my 98 SPX? I can't seem to locate a good flat spot on the hull.
Also where did you put the outlet? |

Bilge pump location.
Hope this helps a little. I epoxied my screen to the hull with two part expoxy close to the driveshaft PTO area. It is not level, but with enough water to get in, it will pump it out. I exited mine on the righ side near the grab handle. you can also exit from the rear about 4-5" under the grab handle also. |

spx hull don't really have an ideal location. (stubby little buggers but I love em
I reverse the right side bilge strainer and run a longer hose to suit. I then grind a bit out of the blue plastic base and mount them behind the reversed oem bilge strainer. As far as pumps go you have two choices that are similar in cost and both have advantages. 1: rule 500, wired through waterproof fuse and QUALITY switch direct to batt. 2: rule automatic sensing (like 950xp oem) wired through relay fed by purple wire (powered up by lanyard) I prefer method 2. |
