GPS'd my cousins '03 RXDI today and got 62.6. 55-56 seems way off.

62.6 must have been downstream, make another pass the opposit way and make the average.

55/56 is about what most inexperienced riders will get out of an RX because of clueless use of the trim and wrong riding position, a shipped impeller or a dying cylinder (very common on the 951) can do that too.

I made 3 passes: 62.4, 62.6, 62.8 with 4 bars of fuel at sea level. Keep in mind air temp. was about 75 and lake temp. was 68. 62 is about right for an RXDI.

You will be very happy with the RXP. I had a 2001 RX carb model, was good for about 62 after I rejet and put on flame arrestors. I would not mind having another one as a second ski for my wife and daughters to ride.
