Just curious if anyone has tried a step? It would not benefit all the way through but to make it and taper before shoe.
I`ll be shootin` from the hip! |

Notice the greenhulk crew has nothing to say? Lil over their heads. Give it a few,,,they`ll start emailing people for answers and come back with all kinda freaky information. Just don`t forget the GPS boys. ROFL

Yea, lots of skis have steps on them. They work great! Next,,,this guys a bozo. Go ask your buddies at greenhulk what a step in a hull is. I`ll be shootin` from the hip! |

I bet greenhulk and his crew,,(jarret and the like) will be pming the moderator on this one. They can`t take the heat of not being on top of discussion. All the replies in the past hour tells me everyone on that site has looked. Boys,,,,?,,,,need a lil rice with that stew? ROFL

BOZO? Who's the bozo? You asked about a step. You mentioned nothing about a step in the hull.
By the way, stepped hulls don't work in PWC application. You may want to ask this question on Hulks site. They can probably tell you more about it. |
Man, don't send him to greenhulks site. Those guys don't have a clue what they are talking about.
Thanks. But how do you know this? Just asking. See this isn`t hard. I`ll be shootin` from the hip! |

There ya go again. I never said that. You just did. Must be boring being the king of the hill on YOUR site. Gotta come over here now eh? Site must be losing a lil punch. I`ll be shootin` from the hip! |

Hi HOSS good to see you again
I have been here a long time. I started coming here way before I even had my own site. Look at my post count. By the way, my site isn't losing it's punch. 1.5 million hits per month and a Alexa rating down in the teens RXPfl is right though. Stepped hulls don't work on jet powered hulls as a stepped hull creates too much lift and you would suck air into the shoe and cavitate. |
Thanks. There are other shoes. I`m just asking. Seriously. Has anyone ever really tried this that you are aware of? Seadoo, Yamaha, race teams? I am just curious. No star trek or nothing.
A stepped hull does not create lift. At all. Its designed to break the surface plane thereby less friction or hull to surface contact. No lifting involved. I`ll be shootin` from the hip! |
This is why I mentioned the step not going completely through to the shoe. I believe the first staement. I`ll be shootin` from the hip! |
Really? Going to the shoe? Someone with a lil bit of knowledge should have caught that. Why not in PWC application? You seem to know. Why not answer? See what they ok you to say over there first. Then come back here and reply. Hurry,,,,you won`t get in trouble. I promise. Its ok to discuss things here and be wrong or right. You can voice your opinion here. I`m here and won`t let anything happen to you. I`ll be shootin` from the hip! |

See how this is informatio greenie is giving with absolutely no merit and is totally wrong? On his site let someone have a different opinion than him. His crew is all over you. This is what he toughted that was wrong with this site. Greenie? One question? Why post this or even answer this if you knew you didn`t know? Why not just say, "I don`t know"? I waited for the reply but there is non. Giving you the chance to correct it or admit it. Thats more than you do for people on your site. Airated water actually makes the vessel/craft lose buoancy. That means that it will actually ride a bit lower than non airated water in relation to actual surface height. Jet boat manufacturers have played with stepped hulls and continue to do so today as jets have made a strong comback since the 80`s fallout. Now back to the original question if anyone knows. RC? I`ll be shootin` from the hip! |

HOSS you are a fruitcake

A stepped hull is something I'm going to try with my stock set up before I put all my handling package together. I'm not sure about the RPX, but the GPR has a great set up for making this something to try... The rideplate and trim tabs are inline with the hull from side to side, no stagger. I think I can make it happen.
Gains??? We'll see. I will post in a few months when I'm done. (RXP owners, don't be to offended by the name. I have heard there are a few RXPs that CAN beat me. Plus you guys don't seem to fight like the GPR guys. It's much more civil over here. |
Looks as if the crew is mounting an assault.
RXP,,,do you really know if anyone has done this? All I hear are no and can`t, that won`t happen, this will, and so on and so on. You wouldn`t wnt a rideplate in line with the hull. And trim tabs on a jet don`t work too grat. Yeah, I`ve seen it tried. (jet boat I might add, 19') I`ll be shootin` from the hip! |

My military GPS bought in 98` (well all 52 I believe) take reasdings off of 10 satellites. How many does yours read off? Not 10 I guarantee. Thats what a military unit is/was. It took info from many more satellites at the same time making it much more acurate. Oh, all 52 units were for the Venezuelan Navy`s patrol boats. Built at Halter`s Equitable shipyard here on Industrial Canal. The Venezuelans decided they wanted the NAV6500 so we got that for them. No one ever asked for these back and they were paid for. So I gave them out to different business associates that we delt with. Gace quite a few out at Bollinger. Now PainKiller, have I ever attacked you? NO! I really don`t think we have ever had a thread that we discussed anything at all. I could be wrong. What gives bro? Do you know something about stepped hulls? Something to share? You perhaps have designed a stepped hull for personal watercraft? If so give me some info. Heck thats all I ve been asking for. If RC leaves this up long enough for people to see,,,you can see the green crew has no positive information. I asked a question. Its not from them so its got to be stupid. If they or the leader doesn`t know they will just lie rather than not say anything. I can`t ubderstand that. If you dare reply to one of them or disagree then the crew comes out. This is exactly how it goes on the green site. Little hint,,even professional riders are not hull designers, mechanical engineers working for Rotax on the 3D cad machine or a physicist specializing in hydro dynamics. Boys its ok to be wrong. I hope that mabe Riva Crew knows. Someone sometime had to try it. Again, I`m just curious if anyone knows of it being done or even tested now on the down low. Again, I highly recommeng GreenHulk`s site. It is extremely informative. I did all my mods by looking at the how to section on his site for tips. It is the most informative site I`ve found on the web for the RXP. It saved me a few times. Anyone who gets an RXP/RXT I tell them to look at that site. I just don`t like the negative feedback from an opinion or idea. This message has been edited. Last edited by: HOSS, I`ll be shootin` from the hip! |

Hoss, you know everything, so why do you need feedback from us? No one responds to you because you ask questions to which you think you already have the only answer. Then you berate anyone who posts a response that doesn't comport with your answer. The fact is, you don't want an answer unless it's your answer. Well, you have it already, so I'll go ahead and agree with you on this one.

These "Jet Boat Manufacturers" may have the info you are looking for. It hasn't been tried on a PWC yet. Share your findings with us once you try it! |
