Just got my RXT-X back from the shop for the 10hr check and i took it out sat and wow its turning 8040rpm all the time. So my question is are the tachs right on the seadoos or are they off. Because it sure runs great, at one time it showed 8080rpm. I know you said the rev limiter is set at 8100rpm, And i dont want to repitch the prop, i mean it runs to great to change anything. The motor runs so strong at this rpm for a stock seadoo, so will this be ok to keep it this way? Thanks SEA-DOO for a strong running motor.

The RXT-X and RXP-X are best run at 8000rpms, the RXT and RXP are best run at 8100rpms.

The stock tachs on Sea-Doo's are very accurate. Ideally you want to keep the rpm at 8,000. It may feel strong, but you're actually getting into the "soft" rev limiter range at 8,040rpm.

Hello , Mine cant be the only one that this has happen. Seadoo should of put the rev limiter alittle higher than 8100rpm. If its the prop seadoo should pay to fix this, because im not going to pay to repitch the prop on a new stock watercraft that cost 13,000 it runs like a bad out of hell and i dont want to change that, The shop i took it to adjusted my throttle cable they said it had play in it, so when i got it back its turning 8040rpm. Since its under warranty will seadoo put in a new prop?

No, BRP will not replace or repair the prop under warranty and should not be expected to. You're craft is running great. You yourself stated that above!

Keep in mind that the rev limiter that BRP programs into the ECU is 8,100rpm. We, RIVA, recommend running at 8,000rpm. That does not mean that you must run at 8,000rpm or that BRP has delivered a faulty product. The X-boats run great as you have noted. We, RIVA, are in the business of optimizing performance while maintaining reliability. We, RIVA, feel 8,000rpm to be ideal. Again, that does not mean running at 8,040rpm is bad, dangerous, etc.

Thank you. I just wanted to make sure it was ok to run that close to the rev limiter. It sure flys. I dont have any way to know what speed im getting but i know its fast for a big three seater.

No problem! Once you begin modifying it we can help you "tweak it" for optimal performance. Our Pro-Series Reduction Nozzle makes it easy through interchangeable rings.

I found a old watercraft world mag jan 08 in that mag it has a dream demo shoot out and it says that the RXT-X rpm is at 8040rpm so its right on the money with that rpm.

A good purchase would be a Garmin 76 series GPS and a glove box replacement lid with the cutout for the GPS.

Yes your right ive been looking at them in cabelas hunting catalog, they have one for 99.00. Are these very accurate for top speed? looking at the garmin etrax-h, I know some are higher priced but for 99.00 that one would work out for me. So how do this work by movement, i guess you can hold or mount it maybe with double sided tape.

Holding it while going top speed is dangerous, and I wouldn't trust tape. If you buy the glove box lid designed for it, it will clip in perfectly.

You definitely want to securely mount it. One slip up could cost you big time financially or worse, physically!

3M makes a really cool product call Interlock. It's like super velcro! We supply it with some of our products and use it on our test units to mount tach's, egt gauges, a/f ratio meters, etc.
